ALTSO Facts
A Leg To Stand On (ALTSO) provides free prosthetic limbs, orthotic braces, and appropriately fitted wheelchairs to children in emerging countries.
106 million children live with an untreated disability in the developing world. 95% cannot afford even basic care, and 90% will never attend school.
Over two decades of ALTSO's Rocktoberfest series has harnessed the power and generosity of the financial services industry to help 25,000+ CoolKids — empowering the next generation.
Mobility is more than movement - it’s a human right. Mobility provides the foundation needed to break the cycle of poverty — independence, access to education, community, and future gainful employment.
As quickly as a kid outgrows a pair of shoes, ALTSO’s CoolKids outgrow their mobility aids. ALTSO provides continual care to children served through the age of 25, ensuring they maintain their mobility and all the opportunities mobility provides.
ALTSO currently operates 13 programs in 12 countries: Argentina, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Colombia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, Romania, Pakistan, Somaliland, and Uganda.
