The Sum

The Sum is the brainchild of Chicago-based singer/songwriter Gino Sigismondi, inspired by his love for the melancholy power pop of Big Star and grungy groove of Soundgarden and original Black Sabbath, The Sum fuses acoustic-driven, melodic songwriting, with powerful hard rock guitars. Originally a solo project, Gino is joined by Chicago indie rock scene veterans Jim MacGregor on bass and Bill Urban on drums, along with guitarist Derek Schnake adding modern rock texture. Their most recent single, “Choose For Us,” recorded in Skokie at Reelsounds, placed in the top 50 in the Rock category of this year’s Talent is Timeless competition, amongst 3600 entries.
