Why Mobility.

Mobility creates opportunities.

In low-income countries, only 10% of people who need mobility care have access to it. Yet, mobility shapes every opportunity a child has to thrive. A prosthetic limb, wheelchair, or orthotic brace is the foundation from which opportunity grows: to be independent, learn, earn a living, belong, and believe in yourself. Explore how your support makes this possible:

Self-sufficiency.

Mobility creates independence.

Mobility gives children the freedom to navigate life. As children become more independent, caregivers gain time to return to work and build brighter futures.

When we met Daria, she could not move or sit without support. Everyday tasks were difficult for Daria and her mother, let alone leaving the house. Now, Daria can sit securely and comfortably, explore her surroundings, and travel to therapy. Her mother shared, “It helps us so much— thank you! We never imagined we would receive something like this.”

Education.

Mobility opens classroom doors.

Mobility is the difference between getting to school or staying home. In 2025, 70% of our school-aged CoolKids were attending school or had graduated, compared to just 10% of children with disabilities in emerging countries.

When Panha received his first prosthetic limb, his world opened up: “My prosthesis helps me a lot…without my prosthesis, I cannot go to school.” With access to continued mobility care, Panha completed high school and now runs his own photography and filmmaking company.

Supporting SDG #4.

Employment.

Mobility builds brighter futures.

Mobility creates lifelong economic opportunity. Children who receive continued mobility care earn an average ~$100,000 more over their lifetimes.

We provided Bhupendra with his first prosthetic limb in 2006, and continued supporting him as he grew through school and university. In 2023, Bhuepndra opened his very own restaurant. An entrepreneur, he is now supporting himself, his family, and his community.

Supporting SDG #8 and #1

Community.

Mobility creates belonging.

Mobility gives children the opportunity to participate - in schools, sports, celebrations, friendships, and community life.

Before receiving her prosthetic limbs, Chantrey watched her classmates play from the sidelines:  “Before I did not have legs…at school, I wanted to play with my classmates... but, I could not.”  Today, Chantrey spends her free time playing badminton with her friends at school, something she once only dreamed of.

Supporting SDG #10.

Confidence.

Mobility helps children believe in themselves.

Mobility impacts the way you look in the mirror and how you move through the world. Our care is designed to uplift, empower, and destigmatize.

Before receiving her prosthetic limb, Sauri walked to school wearing a shoe tied around her calf in place of her missing foot. Today, she walks confidently beside her classmates, participates in school activities, and hopes to inspire others, sharing with us: "I want to be an inspiration to others... because not everyone is as fortunate as I am."
