Giving Kids A Leg to Stand On, One Step at a Time.
“Hey everyone, I'm Maxence, a student at IE University in Madrid. We rarely stop to thank our legs, but mine have given me a life built around sport. That's exactly why I'm running 85.6 km for ALTSO this November: mobility should be a human right, and this is my way of giving kids without a leg the chance to stand on one, one step at a time.”
The Run.
Mid-November, I'm covering 85.6 km on foot, from IE University's Madrid campus, over the Sierra de Guadarrama, to IE's Segovia campus, in a single push. The route climbs over 1,400m, peaking near 1,858m, and comes after ten weeks of training squeezed around volleyball, a tendon injury, and a full course load. It's the hardest physical thing I've set out to do, and I'm doing it in one shot.
Following Along.
I'm documenting the whole training block on my socials, Instagram and TikTok, the good sessions, the setbacks, the recovery, all of it. Follow along to see what actually goes into getting to the start line, not just the highlight reel on race day.
Why ALTSO.
Mobility is something most of us never think about until it's gone. For kids with limb disabilities in developing countries, it's not a given, it's the difference between keeping up with everyone else and being left behind. ALTSO provides prosthetics and mobility devices so those kids can stand, walk, and build a life around movement, the same way sport has built mine. That's why every step of this run is aimed at giving a kid without a leg the chance to stand on one, one step at a time.

Our Impact.
Your support fuels more than an 86.5km run, it funds real mobility for kids who need it. Together, we can give them the steps to stand on their own, and a shot at a future that would otherwise be out of reach.
