We must pay our tour operators in advance; therefore we must collect your full villa fee payment no later than April 1, 2016. If payment has not been made in full by April 1, 2016, your spot on the trip will no longer be guaranteed and may be cancelled at the sole discretion of ALTSO. Please note your $2,000 non-refundable donation deposit will be retained by ALTSO.

Please note that there will be no refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, flight cancellations, travel delays or illness. If you cancel your participation in the retreat for any reason, the cancellation policy below will apply, with no exceptions. We wish we could compensate people for unforeseen circumstances (injury, family emergency, etc.), but we have costs already incurred when reserving retreat villas and third-party service providers. We have designed our cancellation policy to be as compassionate as possible in the case that your plans change. But to protect yourself further, we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance.

If you cancel on or before April 14 (the “Cancellation Period”), the balance of your payment (villa fee) will be reimbursed without penalty, and you will be responsible for any processing fees charged by the payment processing company. If you cancel after the Cancellation Period, ALTSO will not issue any refund for your villa fee, as we must pay our tour operators in advance to reserve the rooms. Please note that your $2,000 donation deposit is not refundable in either case, and will be retained by ALTSO, even if you cancel during the Cancellation Period. To cancel, you must send an email stating that you wish to cancel to

If we have to cancel the trip due to too few participants, we will refund you 100% of any and all payments you submitted. We cannot however compensate you for airfare or travel costs incurred. In the unlikely event that the Terima Kasih Retreat must be canceled due to weather, natural disaster or political upheaval, we cannot guarantee a refund – it will be depending on receiving a refund from the venue / tour operator we work with. To cover these risks, we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance.

(not included)

The best way to protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstance is to purchase trip insurance. Travel Insurance may be able to protect you (based on the type of plan) in case:

  • you cancel your participation in the retreat
  • retreat is cancelled due to weather, natural disaster, or not enough participants to run the trip
  • lost baggage
  • medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become ill or injured

ALTSO strongly recommends that all travelers have travel insurance for any trip they wish to take with us. Please note that some insurance options require purchase within 24 hours of making payment for your trip.

Guests may acquire travel insurance through any travel insurance company of their choosing. ALTSO recommends that travelers evaluate the insurance options available for their needs, and inquire with providers about insurance that will provide coverage if the trip needs to be cancelled.
