Since 2004, ALTSO's Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest Events have raised over $3.2 million to treat children with limb disabilities in the developing world.




Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest started in 2004 with an industry-wide “call to instruments.” Musician response was so positive and immediate that the inaugural Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest was held on October 12, 2004 at Planet Hollywood in New York City. More than 50 musicians performed six hours of classic rock for a crowd of 700 people. Generous donations from corporate sponsors and individuals helped ALTSO evaluate more than 150 children and provide them with prostheses and orthoses. This money also helped us establish local manufacturing infrastructure for the production of prosthetics in our pilot project in India, and provide training in New York and Boston for orthopedic professionals from India.

Now in its twelfth year, Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest has been instrumental in enabling ALTSO to provide treatment to over 13,000 children around the world. In addition to our New York City event, we were also proud to welcome the 4th Annual Rocktoberfest-Chicago into our Charitable Events Calendar.

ALTSO’s 3rd Annual Rocktoberfest-Chicago drew quite a crowd Wednesday evening at City Winery with strong support of major sponsors and over 400 attendees from the local Chicago financial and business community. Industry professionals performed rock 'n' roll and acoustic sets to raise funds for ALTSO's children who have lost their limbs in traumatic accidents or suffer from congenital birth defects. The event raised more than $100,000 through sponsorships, ticket sales, and ALTSO’s GLOW campaign. 100% of the net proceeds raised at Rocktoberfest-Chicago are allocated to ALTSO’s life-changing medical programs.

ALTSO’s 11th Annual Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest-NYC was ALTSO’s largest and most spectacular event to date, with nearly 1,400 attendees from some of the world’s most respected financial institutions and strong support from major corporate, beverage and merchandise sponsors. The event’s line up of rock bands and acoustic acts spotlighted hedge fund industry leaders who performed to raise funds for ALTSO children. The event raised around $400,000 through sponsorships, ticket sales, and ALTSO’s GLOW campaign. 100% of the net proceeds will benefit ALTSO’s life-changing medical programs.
