Hi I’m Alyssa. This fall, I'm running the Philadelphia Marathon and raising money for A Leg To Stand On, a charity that works to bring free, high-quality orthopedic care to children in the developing world.
Children with limb disabilities are unable to move independently, making it nearly impossible to attend school, play sports or participate in every day activities. It's easy to take our own ability to move for granted, not realizing the freedom it gives us until witnessing what life would be without it.
ALTSO is an NYC-based non-profit organization working in the developing world, bringing free, orthopedic care to children and young adults with limb disabilities whose families cannot afford treatment. Their goal is to provide high-quality continuous care until the age of 21 for all patients treated under ALTSO’s program. Since 2003, through local treatment providers in Asia, Africa and Latin America, ALTSO has provided free orthopedic care to more than 17,000 children in need.
Please join in helping me support this cause! Below you can find details about what your donation would provide for a child in need in the developing world.
