17-year-old Sofi suffers from cerebral palsy - a neurological disorder that primary affects body movement and muscle coordination. Sofi is able to walk with the assistance of others but because of years sitting cross-legged, she prefers to crawl the majority of the time.

In 2010, on a day like any other, Refan's parents, Nanag and Maryani, road their motorbike to the market. With Refan wrapped tightly in a sarong against his mother's chest, their bike suddenly crashed.

Five years ago, Sokleang gave birth to Yang on the very “rattan bench” shown in the photo above. During labor, Sokleang experienced serious complications that led to Yang acquiring cerebral palsy (“CP”), an abnormality of motor functions.

Ten-year old Seyha lives what the majority of rural Cambodian’s would call an “average” childhood. Seyha’s parents, like most other families living on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, spend their days tending to rice and vegetable fields, earning just $2 per day.
