Founded in 2006 by Ganga Rayamajhi, who is a double amputee, Hope Disability Centre identifies children with limb disabilities in the most impoverished areas of Gulmi District. The organization runs awareness programs by broadcasting ALTSO's services on local radio stations and sending their volunteers into remote areas to register them for medical evaluations at the organization's facility. Once registered, patients in need of corrective surgery are referred to neighboring hospitals where the cost of treatment is negotiated and covered by ALTSO. Follow-up care, including prosthetic devices for amputees, and physical therapy, are also sponsored by ALTSO.
