
YAKKUM Rehabilitation Center is a non-government Christian social organization that is part of the YAKKUM (Christian Foundation for Public Health). YAKKUM Rehabilitation Center provides services to persons with disabilities.
Colin McLennan, a construction worker from New Zealand, founded YAKKUM Rehabilitation Center in 1982. It was originally connected to Bethesda Hospital in Yogyakarta as the Bethesda Rehabilitation Project, which later became known as YAKKUM Rehabilitation Center in 1991.
In 2006, a massive earthquake hit Yogyakarta. YAKKUM Rehabilitation Center responded quickly expanding existing services to accommodate hundreds of new patients who were victims of this natural disaster. At the YAKKUM Rehabilitation Center in Yogyakarta we provide various services for people with disabilities to support rehabilitation.
