Mountains of Hope

In Ecuador we have partnered with Mountains of Hope, an organization that provides opportunities for intercultural discovery and creative expression by bringing benefits of literacy, quality education and the arts to the lives of children and community members.

ALTSO is supporting children with prosthetic and orthopedic devices in addition to trainings of prosthetists to increase the availability of prosthetic care in Ecuador by 20%. The training programs will run for three months from July to September 2010 at the University of Ibarra.

Through Mountains of Hope's prosthesis project and Robert Frank, an American prosthesis specialist who has been treating patients and training technicians in Ecuador for the past twelve years, children with limb disabilities will be able to receive the free care and follow-up they need.
