CURE Clubfoot Worldwide

In the Dominican Republic, ALTSO partners with CURE Clubfoot Worldwide (CCW), a division of CURE International. The vision of CURE Clubfoot is to eradicate clubfoot in the developing world. CCW is the largest clubfoot correction treatment provider in developing countries. With numerous hospitals around the developing world, they provide treatment to thousands of children suffering with the congenital deformation. In 2011, ALTSO's contribution will provide 165 orthotic braces to support children in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

ALTSO's program with CCW will benefit children with limb disabilities by providing them with orthopedic braces used in the Ponseti method. These braces manipulate the child's feet over time, allowing them to have a normal gait to walk correctly. The program also aims to provide training to local medial professionals on the Ponseti method of clubfoot correction and raise awareness about clubfoot and the availability of treatment.
